That's right. The judge has not signed our decree, even though it has been a week. Last time we got it signed in less than one hour. Could be more attempts to prevent the adoption, or it could be that they're just busy. Carrie will not travel on Saturday. Maybe next week. The good news is that the USPS is officially investigating the whereabouts of Carrie's passport. It was sent next-day air 5 days ago to the Kaz consulate in NY for a visa and still has not arrived.
We called the Kaz consulate on Friday before we mailed the passport and asked if we could do anything to expedite receiving the visa. Serge said "no, just send it."
We called the Kaz consulate on Monday to see if Carrie's passport had arrived. Serge said "yes, we have your passport, but you did not pay the expediting fee, so we don't know when it will be processed."
After being reminded of Friday's converstation, Serge said, "maybe will put VISA in it and send it Wednesday."
On Wednesday we called Kaz consulate, Serge said "spell your last name one more time... I don't have it here, but that's probably because I sent it to you already."
As it turned out they never got the Passport. Serge was lying the entire time.
